With nearly a decade of post-graduate experience, I am a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida, specializing in eating disorders, addiction, trauma, depression and anxiety. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) and have completed a 50-hour EMDRIA training to better serve my client population.
I graduated with my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2017 and have since worked in multiple roles within eating disorder treatment, including admissions, intake, and serving as a primary therapist at residential, PHP, and IOP levels of care. During my tenure at Monte Nido/Oliver-Pyatt, I gained experience working with a wide range of client ages (14-older adulthood) and various disorders including Anorexia Nervosa, Binge Eating Disorder and Bulimia.
I have also worked as a therapist at a substance use disorder treatment facility (Hanley Center), serving clients with both addiction and co-occurring mental health concerns. My experience there included providing individual, group, and family therapy, coordinating multidisciplinary care, managing referrals, and supporting clients through admission, assessment, insurance authorization, and discharge/aftercare planning.
After having my daughter in 2022, I chose to move into the private practice sector to create more work–life balance while continuing to provide compassionate, evidence‑based care to my clients. I believe that all clients are capable of lasting change and aim to empower them to find their own solution. My approach is eclectic, primarily drawing from CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), existential, DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy), attachment theory and trauma informed. I believe in the role of humor and levity in the process and find I connect with clients who share the same belief.
When I'm not at work, I am spending time with my husband, daughter and our two dogs.
